Erin Vallarino Blazick found her love of horses too strong to fight at the age of eight years old. At that time, she enrolled in a successful riding program run by Judy Herman at 3 Gaits Stable near her home in Sebastopol, CA. Under Judy’s careful supervision Erin focused on 3 day eventing. Erin competed in the CDS Northern Junior Championships for 8 consecutive years before specializing in Dressage as a young adult.
While attending U.C. Davis, Erin was an intricate part of the highly successful U.C. Davis Dressage Team. She competed with her team at the I.D.A. National Finals Horse Show the first year that she was on the team. She continued to support her team through out her college experience by holding the presidency as well as organizing clinics and horse shows. Many of these clinics were with Susan Hoffman Peacock a U.S.D.F. Certified Instructor and FEI Rider.
Upon Graduation, Erin enrolled in an apprenticeship program with Ms. Peacock at Hidden River Ranch in Corona CA. The focus was clearly on becoming a USDF Certified Instructor and professional trainer. Erin’s talent as an instructor and trainer was put to the test while she coached riders, started young horses and showed up to the F.E.I. level. Her enthusiasm and ability to comprehend human as well as equine complexities made her success inevitable. She received the title of U.S.D.F. Second Level Certified Instructor in 2007 and became the assistant trainer at Hidden River Ranch. Later in 2008, Erin was honored to be invited to participate in the Graduate Young rider Program for up and coming instructors.
Erin is training at Hansen Dam Equestrian Center in Lakeview Terrace. She is currently working on her USDF Silver and Gold Rider Medals. She is looking forward to becoming a USDF 4th Level Cert. Instructor and possibly organizing the workshops at Hansen Dam in the near future. Her students enthusiastically enjoy her personable style of teaching and her professionalism.
